Buckinghamshire Economic & Learning Partnership (BELP) aims to promote the sustainable economic development of Buckinghamshire.
BELP is a lobbying organisation and “think-tank”, bringing together the private sector, public authorities and the community to ensure Buckinghamshire remains a thriving and prosperous place in which to live and work.
BELP is a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee. The company has a private-sector led Board of Directors, drawn from a cross-section of local businesses, together with representatives of local authorities and community groups.
BELP has a small secretariat, including a Chief Executive, Marketing Executive and Administrator. Above all however, BELP relies upon the skills, knowledge and commitment of its Directors and partners.
BELP works in partnership with a wide range of organisations to ensure that Buckinghamshire: |
» |
Is a place where business is welcomed |
» |
Encourages business improvement, through innovation, productivity and competitiveness |
» |
Supports a community where all benefit from the advantages of a dynamic business sector |
» |
Builds a future where the economy is vibrant, diverse and world-class. |
| BELP works in a variety of ways to achieve these objectives: |
» |
Commissioning research into the economy of the County, for example by investigating the amount of land available for commercial activity |
» |
Commenting upon major planning proposals which will shape the economic future of the area |
» |
Supporting initiatives which promote business development, for example Enterprise Hubs in Aylesbury and High Wycombe |
» |
Working in partnership with other agencies to promote investment in infrastructure. |
